Today’s Dawn

Categories Meditation, Nature

The eyes open after deep slumber,
to witness the panoramic view
of the birth of a brand new day;
the sun blissfully kisses
the moon and the night goodbye;
and miles upon miles
of golden skies in the horizon
slowly give way
to a translucent shade of blue and Grey.

The night gallantly salutes
and welcomes the infant day;
a dawn that exhales fresh air,
laced with a blended concoction
of aromatic scents;
the sounds of birds
beautifully chirping;
the cattle, goats and sheep
joyfully leaving the shed
with renewed excitement.

The cool morning breeze
seduces the trees and grass
to drink the morning dew;
the rays of the sun
swallow the mist on the window glasses;
the butterflies majestically dance
and the bees proudly buzz
as they transfer pollen
between the flowers,
which blow in the tantalizing
rhythm of the wind.

With the stars and moon all faded out
in the bright new rays of the sun,
today’s dawn
with its sweet fragrance;
brings waves of fresh opportunities;
fresh petals of new ideas
that replace the fog of yesterday
with a freshly awakened today;
with the tides of new hope,
and with the thrill of a new life,
begging to bloom anew.

I am an epic introvert, who quickly becomes an open book when I pen what’s in my significantly fertile mind; fertile as a result of bombardment by realities that are continuously captured by my inquisitive eyes, ears which are constantly rubbing the ground, through constant reading, and through dreaming too.

Writing provides an opportunity to ‘say’ what my unapologetic quiet mouth will not say; which not only soothes me, but also bequeaths to me a relief, a release, and a hope that the written words will change the world, even if only one person at a time.

And so should you seek, that’s where to find me; deeply tucked inside the blankets of reading, seeing, listening, dreaming, and then writing.
