Thank You
because, laid right in front of my eyes,
are items that money can’t buy,
which more often than not
I take for granted.

Thank You
because my days without sunshine are few,
even when heavy storms rage
and pelt the fields and the valleys
of my body, soul, mind and spirit.

Thank You
because of the still, small, reassuring voice
even when severe floods flow mercilessly,
and thunder roars across
the core of my existence.

Thank You
because of family and friends
who show and give me love
when circumstances leave me
dejected and heartbroken.

Thank You
because of those who hold my hand,
virtually or physically,
and inspire a smile
during times of hopelessness
tempest, grief and despair.

Thank You
because You rekindle hope and dreams
by sending angels to play happily in my fields
by sending laughter to echo in my heart
when there is little
to play and laugh for or about.

Thank You
because of making
my days without sunshine to be few
and for planting in my heart
peace, contentment, happiness and joy;
items that money can’t buy.

I am an epic introvert, who quickly becomes an open book when I pen what’s in my significantly fertile mind; fertile as a result of bombardment by realities that are continuously captured by my inquisitive eyes, ears which are constantly rubbing the ground, through constant reading, and through dreaming too.

Writing provides an opportunity to ‘say’ what my unapologetic quiet mouth will not say; which not only soothes me, but also bequeaths to me a relief, a release, and a hope that the written words will change the world, even if only one person at a time.

And so should you seek, that’s where to find me; deeply tucked inside the blankets of reading, seeing, listening, dreaming, and then writing.
