My Life’s Journey

Categories Lifestyle, Meditation

Life involves climbing mountains
and going down valleys.
Life will bring others into your cocoon
in all shades of colour.
My life’s journey,
just like any other persons
has not been all rosy.

On the journey through life,
I have met great and amazing people
who played great roles
in moulding me to
believe in myself, to push my limits,
to conquer my goals,
to make me who I am, and generally,
to be happy.

On the journey through life
I have also encountered people who
tried to bring me down,
tried to count me out,
filled my head with doubt,
made me carry burdens uphill,
tried to tear me down,
tried to change my fate; and
tried to convince me that I was wrong
when I knew that I was right.

On the journey through life
I have met angels in human form
who lifted me up again
when I was down
and made me rise again
from the dust; from the dark clouds,
from the mud, from the pain
and from the storm.

I have met angels who encouraged me
to soldier on to the light
on the other side
that I could barely see,
through my teary eyes,
and, by so doing,
I crossed over,
and that made me
to come out stronger.

I have met angels who believed that:
God gives His tests
to the ones prepared best
to understand the lessons
and turn them into blessings.

I have met angels who believed that:
God gives His tests
to the ones prepared best
to go through His tests
even when the tests seem unbearable;
but still, know enough
not to question His will;
but still, know enough
that through it all
even when it is not all rosy,
He will shed a light in their darkness;
in His time.

I am an epic introvert, who quickly becomes an open book when I pen what’s in my significantly fertile mind; fertile as a result of bombardment by realities that are continuously captured by my inquisitive eyes, ears which are constantly rubbing the ground, through constant reading, and through dreaming too.

Writing provides an opportunity to ‘say’ what my unapologetic quiet mouth will not say; which not only soothes me, but also bequeaths to me a relief, a release, and a hope that the written words will change the world, even if only one person at a time.

And so should you seek, that’s where to find me; deeply tucked inside the blankets of reading, seeing, listening, dreaming, and then writing.
